The motor driven rotating measurement paddle is hampered in its rotation when it comes into contact with solid material. The reaction's moment is converted into an electrical signal and the motor switches off. Once the paddle is no longer covered with solid material, a spring moves the motor back into the rest position and the motor starts again.

The vibrating probe is stimulated by a piezo and oscillates at its mechanical resonance frequency. If the probe comes into contact with material, the oscillation is dampened and this is electronically registered, and sent out as a signal. Once the probe is no longer comes in contact with material, the probe can oscillate again and a new output signal is generated. The installation is generally on the side of the container at the height of the required measurement. When installed from the top of the container, it is possible to use an extension tube of up to 4m or an extension cable of up to 20m.

The Flexinivo® FN 6 can be used for level detection in batch control systems through automatic height adjustment. It can detect distances of up to 3.9 meters. The height adjustment and signal analysis are carried out by an external PLC.
